Balate Dimora is located in Ragusa Ibla down town, a few minutes from Piazza Duomo dominated by the imposing church of San Giorgio, and exactly in the ancient district of the "Sangiovannari" once inhabited by bourgeois, artisans, farmers and massari. That is, men actively engaged in the wheat trade and land administration.

Ibla, the historical centre of Ragusa, has been included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites since 2002. And it is also famous for being the set of the famous fiction "Il Commissario Montalbano".

 

The building, a small bourgeois house, dates back to the end of the 19th century, completely renovated respecting the original architecture and typical materials . In our project we wanted to enhance antique objects and furniture and that is why the concept of reuse is expressed throughout the house, the  rooms and common areas are furnished with completely restored Sicilian modern and vintage pieces.

We have created a style that embraces modernity with the historicity of the place to create a hospitable and familiar atmosphere, all of which makes our small home a unique Sicilian place and perfect for your stay in Ibla. The property has three bedrooms: two doubles and one quadruple, located on three different levels so as to guarantee our guests privacy and comfort. Each room has a private bathroom, balconies and \ or terrace with panoramic views over Ibla and the Santa Domenica valley.

The rooms are equipped with every comfort: air conditioning, heating, LED-TV, courtesy set, hairdryer and WI-FI.

The structure also boasts two common areas on two different floors, where you can devote yourself to reading texts in different languages ​​or relaxing.

In addition, we can recommend our guests private guided tours to discover not only Ragusa Ibla, but also the whole fascinating Iblea area.

Walking  from Balate you can  easily reach restaurants, bars, trattorias, pizzerias and supermarkets and you can get lost in the narrow streets and  courtyards  that characterize Ibla.
